What's your story?

SKIPPER'S SKI LODGE: 40' houseboat. Our last name is Skipper and we love to waterski, thus our lodge on the water. Our ski boat is named Skipper's Ski Boat. THAR CHINN (pronounced thar-cheen) is the name we gave our spritely 1979 23 ft Kittywake sloop. Thar chinn literally translates to "over the head" or "above the head", both of which we thought we were when we took on this boat (our first, and the interior had been totally destroyed by mildew and neglect when we got her). However, the Irish use the expresion "thar chinn!" to denote a superb performance, and this best describes the way she sails. ALLEZ CAT My Hobie 16...."Allez" means "you go" in French; since she and I both come from Louisiana, I suppose it's appropriate. I later learned that she has a famous predecessor, a famous British cat by the same name; like the British catamaran, "Allie" is quick, too. Not only am I paying for her by coding away in C++; but Sea Plus Plus should remind her to be on the water with the decks high and dry. B^) THE CAPTAIN AND O'NEIL Our boat is a 19' Grady White rigged and used mostly for skiing and cruising on Doctor's Lake in Orange Park, FL. I am a U.S. Navy Captain (now retired) and my wife's maiden name is "O'Neill". I turned down a promotion just so we wouldn't have to re-name the boat - NOT!
