 Boat Naming Made Simple

EXPEDITIOUS
Earned its name on a wild ride home from the BVI to North Carolina. We surfed home down the Caicos channel at 11.7 knots in pitch darkness with a furled main and a small protion of the jib unfurled..

TOO BLUE
Although the boat is Blue, its actually a reference to my stateof mind, totally crude, I know its a naff joke, but friends insistedon it!!! .

STRESS MANAGEMENT
With a demanding job that requires many hours, this name seemed appropriate. It certainly works, after a busy week there is nothing like opening up the 460 King Cobra on a Friday after work to kick off the weekend, if I'm not working..

BLEW BAYOU
An obvious play on words as my wife and I sailed (blew) past my competition/friends here on the Chesapeake at Solomons Island..

LITTLE BEA
Our second boat was named Little Bea after my husband's mother. The truth is that she was 5'10" and big boned, but not overweight. He used to call her Big Bea. When she passed away. we decided that Big Bea would be unjust and our 17 foot daysailer didn't merit the title. Our second boat,a 27 footer, was the first to have the name painted on. My current boat, an Oceanis 350, is named Little Bea II. The dinghy is unnamed. I can't decide whether to name it Littler Bea or Little Bea Too. This summer I saw a boat in the Cheasapeake named "A Woman's Place". As a female captain, it gets my vote. I work in commercial real estate and in the late 80"s, developers were sometimes lent more than the cost to build their buildings. A common story was that a seafaring type had named his boat "First Disbursement". .

JAMS
James, Angela, Mary-Lynn, and Shirley. We are docked at Wiarton, Ontario...fishing in Colpoys Bay for the BIGGGG Salmon!.
