About the Author
Susan D. Artof is a long time boating enthusiast from Marina Del rey California. She has collected boat names and stories for over 25 years while traveling to various harbors with her husband and two competitive sailboat racing kids. She is the author of seven books and numerous articles on a variety of subjects including psychology, a subject she taught at Santa Monica College for 23 years before turning her time to writing and sailing.

This book has been the most fun to write of any other book I've done. I get calls and letters from around the country on this topic. Yet, with 25 years spent collecting names and stories from all over, my family still spent hours naming our most recent boat - which will the Phoenix (after the mythical bird which arose out of the ashes). Why? Because the poor boat will need a complete remodel and looks like it spent the last 10 years at the bottom of the sea. Read this book to help focus your attention on how to develop a story with your name.
