What's your story?
OUT OF SERVICE
I am a bus driver . The best part of my day is when I can put up my "out of service" sign and head for my 28 ft. sailboat . .
AGAPE (with an accent over the 'e')
Agape is the Greek word for principled love. The boat is a 1975 26' trailerable sloop which my second cousin Gary bought brand new. Out of respect for him, and the boat's history, I am not changing the name. The nameseems particularly appropriate for the love he and I (and probably all sailors) have of sailing and the sea. .
ENTROPY
The thermodynamic term with the preferred definition - What's left over after useful work is done. That's what this Cal35 amounts to. .
TAO / KADIMA
I own two boats. A Southern Cross 31 named " Tao " and a 22 ft Catalina named " Kadima ". Tao comes from the philosophy of being at one with nature and Kadima is from a paddle ball game of cooperation where the only object of the game is to keep the ball in the air. Cooperation and going with the flow, that's sailing. .
ON Y VA
"On y va" is the name of our Catalina 34. We are Francophiles and plan toreturn to France for our retirement in a few years. It means "Let's go" inFrench. It is frequently read to be "Oy va" by other boaters.
