January 31, 1997 – About one thousand years ago the Polynesians set sail in Holuke’a for what would become known as Hawai’i. Holuke’a means “Star of Gladness” and is the name of our Schock Santana 22′ sailboat. I grew up in Hawaii before it became a state and intend to go back when I retire. The boat is currently in Southern California.
