What's your story?
RUNNIN' ON FAITH
Our boat is a 34' Holiday House, all aluminum hull, and mahogony interior. When we bought it we didn't try to name it for a while to make sure we got the right name. We had a few problems with it since it has been in the water continuously since 1959 and at Lake Oucahita in Arkansas for all that time. We had a few problems one particularl weekend, just happened to be the weekend we got a new Pioneer CD player and Eric Clapton's "Unplugged" was playing. The song that caught our attention at that moment and ended up being the name for the boat was " RUNNIN' ON FAITH ".
BEAU GUST
When we bought our Catalina 27, she had the commonplace name of "Windsong." When a small tornado ripped through the end of our dock, she suffered a lot of cosmetic (and nothing else, thankfully) damage. Our insurance company paid for a full repaint, and a name change. " Beau Gust " is simply a play on "Beau Geste," and with the number of racing trophies we have racked up, it's been a very fitting name.
QUIETLY
I named by 43' Mason sailboat Quietly after having been a powerboater for many years. My dink is named Quietly Making Noise, after Jimmy's song.
SEA SLUG
My neighbor has a big, 42' Kady Krogen trawler with a single 90 hp diesel engine. The boat weighs >40,000 lbs. The name - Sea Slug. It fits.
ERR A PARENT
The Apparent Wind - Heir Apparent - a parent's error...it's the kid's boat, a 17 foot sloop.
