What's your story?
DIONYSIS
It typifies the potential use the boat could be used for - the Greek God of Food and Drink!.
BUCEPHALUS
Bucephalus is the name I have chosen for my International Contender.
He was the horse that shied at the wind. Entirely appropriate for a
one man trapeze boat. Bucephalus was Alexandria the Great's stallion
which only he could ride. Again fits well with the class. And again,
Bucephalus was the favorite horse of U. S. Grant, is Orions steed andwas
the name of the vessel that carried Napoleon into exile.
EMPTY POCKETS/POCKET CHANGE
Two years ago my husband and I bought our first big boat, a used 28' cabin cruiser (it was named Seagram's). After we decided to buy we realized all the additional costs we'd have, taxes, survey, slip fees, documentation fees, etc...and decided to call it Empty Pockets. Just this past year we purchased a l5' bowrider (our dinghy) and named it Pocket Change.
CURRENT EFFECT
When we pass other boats in our Mirage 30' our quarter wave creates a "Current Effect.".
NANAKWA
Our 26' Macgrgor. We spent 9 years living in Kitimat B.C. One of my favourite fishing reefs was the Nanakwa reef. I later learned from a Haisla Indian that the name of the reef is derived from the Haisla "place where the sun first touches the water". I resolved to spend one morning out there watching the sun rise. It was an unforgettable experience..
SWEEPER
Just bought a 19' wooden Lightning and have decided to name it "Sweeper",a play on my last name...Streeper. It will be used to transport my family and I on Idaho's pristine blue waters..
