COME FRIDAY
My niece helped named our Hunter 31. er introducing her to Jimmy Buffett 101 (Songs You Know By Heart), she mentioned that she liked the song "Come Monday", but that Monday was a depressing day. My wife and I agreed, and decided that "Come Friday" was a much better name for our boat. Friday was traditionally the day at work when people and their problems kept a low profile. Monday was the day that all hell broke loose (at the time, I was environmental compliance manager for a uranium enrichment plant)
SERENDIPITY
Which means - The gift of being able to make delightful discoveries purely by accident. I mostly fish from the 19 foot bayliner and can always use more serendipity.
PUT IN HER PLACE
When we were thinking of a name most of the time boats have a female name, but my wifes name is too long, so the boats place is in the water, hence Put in Her Place it can also have other meanings as well.
POKEY'S PROGENY
We had a contest to name our 281 Chris Craft and to make it difficult the name couldn't reference sex, booze, or money. My father had built a runabout and called it Pokey Joe. He later bought a 2nd boat and called it Pokey's Mate. It seemed appropriate to have an offspring thus our boat became Pokey's Progeny. (note: runner-up in the contest was the name "La-Boat-O-Me". On the bow was suggested "Front-Of-La-Boat-O-Me".
RED LADY
Purchased from my girlfriends father, the RED LADY, a 1960 Chris-Chraft Sea Skiff Hard Top, was named in honor of his wife for her reation to the purchase. Something tells me that is wasn't embarassment that made her RED! Prior names for the boat were Blue Betsy, Sundowner, and Samson.
