What's your story?
SHADY LADY
My boat is a 24ft Grady White. Her name is"Shady lady"derived from the fact that Gradys are"bad"boats and she is every inch a"lady".
GLOCKENSPIEL!
has been the family name of every boat my dad has ever owned..not Glockenspiel I or II or III etc. just Glockenspiel. Way back in 1950 when my dad got his first of 3 Lightnings #1903....there was a TV program on called Kuekla,Fran an Ollie and on it they played a song that was called the Glockenspiel song .....about the Glockenspiel leading the band..and my siblings and I sang the song enough I guess! that he felt he too, wanted to be the"leader"...of the"band of sailboats"going round the racecourse...And Yes, time and time again Glockenspiel has lead the way!!! Now my dad has bought his"last"boat..but not a Sailboat..a trawler design this time - but she wears the Family Name PROUDLY!!
RAINBOW CHASER
The boat was bought on a sunshowery day in november with numerous Rainbows I am a geologist anfd spent 30 years looking for or developing mines (some say chasing rainbows)
TACH'S TIME
We are sailors, and I do tax work and personal financial planning. Tax time generally refers to the season of the year where individual returns are prepared. However, in the case of our boat, it refer to the time for many tachs, the movement of the boat through the wind.
SPYGLASS
We have a 72' 1993 Lakeview houseboat at Lake Powell named. The name was taken from a famous golf course of the same name. We also developed an 80 acre subdivision in Mesa Az with the same name,"Spyglass".
UNEXPECTED PLEASURE
I had been looking for a project boat for several years in the Northeast part of the country when unexpectedly I ran across a 1959 Chris~Craft 17ft ski boat in my home town of Nicholasville, Kentucky. The boat is in excellent restoration shape. Hence the"Unexpected part of the name. As for the Pleasure part of the name, Owning any part of American history is a"Pleasure".
